Last October we went on a magical family trip to Legoland Resort Malaysia. One of the #perksofpinas is living in a region where travel can be affordable. We’re just a short flight from Malaysia and we seized the opportunity for a memorable family trip. I am super happy to have partnered with Legoland Malaysia for a serious of posts that share all my insider tips and tricks to maximize your own trip to Legoland Malaysia. Enjoy!

Legoland Resort Park|

Visiting Legoland during the month of October was so much fun! The park is decked out in spook gear, special activities for the kids, even Brick or Treating! Plus, if your child wears a costume to the park they get in for FREE. That’s right, if your child comes wearing a costume they get FREE entrance to the park with an accompanying paid adult. Keep your eyes open for awesome deals throughout the year, Legoland is always doing something extra special!

Map Out Your Day|

To enhance your experience map out your day. You can start by downloading the map on your phone, and any other extra apps Legoland recommends to enhance the experience. During our visit The Hidden Side app could be used throughout the park to find ghosts and other hidden creatures.

Legoland Park itself is relatively small which is great for young children to visit the park. You can manage walking around the whole park easily, our five year old surprisingly didn’t ask to be held once all three days we were at the park.

For the more popular rides and experiences you have to sign up for, I recommend hitting these right when the park opens at 10 am (usually). We were able to ride the VR Coaster multiple times with little to no line on Saturday morning. You can also wait and be the last ones out of the park which frees up lines as well. We rode the Dragons Apprentice five times in a row the last 10 minutes of operating hours.

Lego City Junior Driving School can have quite a long line because the children get ample time to explore driving a car. I suggest going here right when the park opens.

To sign up for a robotics class at Lego Academy you should go when you first enter the park and classes and slots are assigned by the hour and first come first serve. I would only recommend this for children 9+.

Star Wars Miniland|

When you enter the main park Miniland greets you but just beyond Miniland you will find a dedicated exhibit to Star Wars Miniland. A short Lego Star Wars video entertains you before you walk through numerous rooms of Star Wars dioramas!

**THE GREAT LEGO RACE**
**VR ROLLER COASTER**

Honestly, this was probably the coolest rollercoaster all of us have ever been on. The concept was hard for me to grasp until I rode it. It’s as if you are playing a racing video game BUT in real life! Before we had kids my husband and I played a lot of Mario Kart and this was pretty much living that experience. I did get a bit motion sick but nobody else seemed to get sick from it. You wear the VR goggles and then proceed to have a full roller coaster ride. You can feel the wind agains your face as you drive past and over insane pumps VR/IRL style. It’s very cool.

Legoland Water Park|

If you ask my husband what his favorite memory from our trip to Malaysia was he will most certainly answer the day at Legoland Water Park. No one enjoyed themselves there more than my husband. Water parks and waterslides are an iconic rite of passage for American kids so to enjoy the day at Legoland Water Park with our own kids was special.

The water park itself is a perfect size for families with small children. The space itself isn’t too large but the quality of the experience and fun factor is way up there. It’s also great for families with older children as the waterpark offers more intense faster slides as well as beginner slides for little kids.

We spent most of our time at the water playground and on the water slides. The playground is enclosed and has everything a child would want in a water park. Waterslides are intertwined throughout the structure as well as climbing ropes, bridges and humungous buckets of water that rain down on the guests below with out a notice. It really is good fun.

The waterslides kept us captivated for hours. They are located on the upper part of the waterpark and layer upon one another. It’s incredible how much fun they can pack into one space! The waterslides do require a height and weight limit but our 4 year old was able to ride most of the rides, especially with a companion in tow. If you’re little ones aren’t keen on the big slides there is a boat race building station located in front of the slides, a perfect place for a little one to stay entertained. As always with Legoland, it is so thought out and there really is something for everyone.

I recommend taking your lunch near the wave pool. The food choices at that cafe are delicious, the tables are covered with umbrellas and you can dip in the pool while you’re waiting for your meal. The kids can also swim while parents enjoy a pool side meal or cold beverage.
