Legoland Malaysia Food Hacks
Last October we went on a magical family trip to Legoland Resort Malaysia. One of the #perksofpinas is actually being in a region where travel can be affordable. We’re just a short flight from Malaysia and we seized the opportunity for a memorable family trip. Travel these days has shifted to include food in all elements of the experience and theme parks are not excluded from this phenomenon. Before we visited Legoland I researched up on food options as I was curious about food prices and also have a son with a gluten allergy. I’ll show you food options, discoveries and sweets later in the post but some things you should know about food at Legoland is 1. It’s affordable 2. Easy to find 3. Not a lot of variety but overall food is tasty.
Resort Restos|
Bricks Family Restaurant - For sure the highlight for our family was the inclusive breakfast at Bricks Restaurant if you are a guest at the Legoland Hotel. I highly recommend this option because the Legoland Hotel is amazing and so is Bricks Restaurant. The food choices are vast and include cuisines from Malaysia, Asia region in general and Western breakfast choices as well. It is of course buffet style with endless Milo - a Childs dream! There is fresh roti - an adults dream! Plus, the dinner at Bricks, Kai’s Sushi and Di Mattoni are quite pricey at 25$USD. We opted out of eating dinner at the hotel because of the high price tag. Lunch|
We ate lunch 2 days at the main Legoland and 1 day at the Legoland Waterpark. The Nasi Lemak from the waterpark is my favorite Nasi Lemak (yes, they vary depending on location within Legoland). I highly recommend taking your lunch at the waterpark as the barbecue choices are excellent plus you can sit by the pool and enjoy your meal. The two lunches we had the main were sandwich types and were ok. We ordered the kids meals because they were an affordable option (6-6$USD) and were accompanied with ice cream at the end, which is a nice treat to have on a warm day at Legoland.
Dinner|
We took our dinners out of the park and enjoyed Thai food at the local mall and Mexican food at the deluxe grocery store, Ben’s Independent Grocer. In my opinion, just eat every night at Ben’s Independent Grocer. The atmosphere is great for children and family, the food choices are plenty and affordable. Insider Tip: Try to go a bit early before the park closes so you beat the dinner traffic.
Sweet Treats|
We go on two big trips a year as a family and they are usually both to extremely warm places so I like to indulge in sweet cold beverages or tasty treats to cool us down. We ate multiple popsicles and cold Milo during our visits. They are around $1 a piece which is incredibly cheap in comparison the $13 beverages at Disneyland California.
Water Bottles - I am sad to say Legoland has no place to fill up water bottles. We live in an era of time in which most places are aware of the pervasive plastic rubbish that looms in our oceans. I was quite disappointed there was no filtered water at any restaurant or refillable stations any where throughout the park.
