The Big Bad Wolf Book sale is here in Manila! BBW Book Sale is pretty much a factory sale with almost 2 million books and 17,000+ new titles. It is intense and a time commitment BUT if you are a bibliophile it's absolutely worth it. I got a sneak peek yesterday and of course bought way too much. If you're into children's books or fiction, this place has a ton. Plus, cookbooks, non-fiction, science + tech, art + craft (more than last year!) etc etc etc. Most books are priced 160-340 php. I only saw one book which cost 1,000php. They are in great condition and new. *No, there is absolutely no option for online purchase.
Helpful Tips|
Have a game plan before you go. What section and title do you want to spend most of your time and money on?
Set a budget. It is very easy to spend money because books are sulit! I am talking 160-340 php is the average price.
Plan your time of visit. This is crucial because the payment cue can be extremely long. I have heard the best hours on in the early morning around 5-7 am. Afternoon to middle of the night is peak hours.
Pace yourself. You can easily spend 3-5 hours (very easily) at BBW so pace yourself by taking a break. Food options are readily available plus you come back with a renewed perspective. When you return, look at what books you have in the cart and it will help you weed out the ones you aren’t really dying over.
Wear a mask, wash your hands, sanitize and please bring your own bag/suitcase/box to carry your loot home.
You can also shop for a cause by donating books to a mutual tie up between @gawadkalinga + @bbwbooksph. 1,000 books will be distributed in the Philippines! Happy Reading!
